Samsung Galaxy S3 VS iPhone 5 Review: Will iPhone 5 Be the Best Handset

Introduction

Smartphone rivalry never stops in the market, making purchase decisions hard for consumers. If you keep half an eye on the handset market, you will notice that the battle between Samsung and Apple wages on, in which the hottest android-based mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 and the long-awaited iPhone 5 stack up against each other. To make costumers have a better understanding of the two powerful handsets, a detailed Samsung Galaxy S3 VS iPhone 5 review is made here.

Samsung Galaxy S3 VS iPhone 5: Appearance

Samsung seems bound up in fresh designs as it introduced a rather sleek curved back with rounded edges instead of the textured black plastic and square design of the S2. However, it's arguably a little plasticky.

Apple has made great efforts to get the iPhone 5 as thin as possible by removing the rear layer of glass and merging its constituent layers to squish everything down as far as possible. What leaves you deep impression is that iPhone 5 feels more hand-friendly as Apple has also tweaked the design to make it feel a bit less severe in the hand. More important, the new etched aluminium back is much less slippy than previous versions and build quality is exceptional.

Samsung Galaxy S3 VS iPhone 5: Screen

Samsung's Galaxy S3 has a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, which yields a 1,280x720-pixel resolution and a pixel density of 306 pixels per inch, bursting with deep contrast and vibrant colors. So to speak, the screen is bigger to watch your favorite TV shows, movies, or anything else you want to see.

iPhone 5 made a great improvement on its screen. It’s bigger, and crucially it’s now a 16:9 resolution, which is important for one reason: you can have good visual experience at native resolution without black bars. Unquestionably, iPhone 5's new 4in display looks plenty big for video playback, without being a burden. As far as sheer sharpness is concerned, the iPhone 5 has it beat. But overall both iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 are too close to call – both are superb screens.

Samsung Galaxy S3 VS iPhone 5: OS and Power

The Samsung Galaxy S3 currently rocks Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as standard and boasts a quad-core chip clocked at a nippy 1.4GHz. It's proven itself to be among the most powerful phones we've ever tested and makes using demanding apps and games a dream.

iPhone 5 sports iOS 6 (mentioned in WWDC 2012), one of the best mobile operating systems in the world, which promises a slightly tweaked user interface with a smarter Siri that will launch apps, FaceTime over 3G and plenty more. In the mean time, iPhone 5 marks the arrival of Apple's latest processor, known as the A6 chip. Although details about it are extremely thin, one thing for sure is that Apple has always been excellent at getting superb performance out of seemingly lesser hardware without sacrificing battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S3 VS iPhone 5: Battery

In fact, Samsung take aggressive measures on Galaxy S3’s battery, surpassing most rivals by about 20%. The 2100mAh removable battery is designed to make sure that the large screen, with millions of pixels, isn't going to suck down the power as fast as it might do.

Although the exact technical specs of iPhone 5 battery are still a mistery, Apple offered the same claimed eight hour 3G talk time as its predecessor, the 4S or a whopping 40 hours of audio. Also, like previous iPhones you can't swap out the battery on the iPhone 5.
