How to Watch YouTube 4K and 4K HDR Videos on iPhone iPad

Apple opens the door to Google's VP9 codec format. The 4K option will appear on YouTube videos played on some iPhone and iPad models running iOS 14. iPhone iPad Models That Support YouTube 4K VP9 Playback

iPhone SE or newer is compatible with iOS 14, which doesn't mean these devices can play YouTube 4K and 4K HDR VP9 content. To stream YouTube 4K videos, you have to own an iPhone or iPad that is equipped with an OLED and HDR display, only the following iPhone and iPad models enable users to enjoy YouTube 4K VP9 content.

Step 1. Open YouTube on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 3. Select Quality and choose 2160p from the quality list.
